“Celebrating The Environment Of Our Region”
Everyone is invited to celebrate Earth Day 2014!
Activities highlighting our local New Brunswick environment will take place throughout the day on Saturday, April 26th.
9 am – 12 noon: Come on over to sign the Earth Day Banner at the Sackville Farmer’s Market (corner of Weldon and Bridge Streets).
11 – 12 noon: Family Walk with Andrew McFarlane through the Waterfowl Park. Meet at the Memorial Park (corner of Weldon and Bridge Streets). All ages. Rain or shine! Boots suggested.
1 – 3 pm at the Sackville Legion: “Locally Produced!” Trade Show
Everyone welcome! (Free of charge.). Local food producers and environmentally-related organizations and businesses from the area will be setting up displays, demonstrations, tastings and activities. Activities for kids from 1-3 pm. Tea and cookies. Contact Heather at 536-7789 for info.
1:30 pm at the Sackville Legion: 4 municipalities
Representatives from the 4 municipalities in our area: Dorchester, Memramcook, Port Elgin & Sackville have been invited to join together to tell us about positive actions on behalf of the environment in their communities.
3:30 – 5 pm at the Sackville Legion: Voice of the People Tour
This is a presentation circulating through New Brunswick addressing issues of the Unconventional Shale Gas Industry. Advantages of developing Renewable Alternative Energy will be highlighted. There will be lots of time for question and answers.
