Sackville, New Brunswick’s Salem Elementary School held its second annual Outdoor Education Day on Friday, June 3rd. Students spent the day engaging with their new outdoor environmental education classroom through 11 volunteer-run learning stations. Teachers and volunteers taught students about species identification, recycling, gardening, tree species, animals at risk, sports, and much more! Josette MacIsaac, the RCE Tantramar and Salem Elementary School Outdoor Education Coordinator organized the event and has worked to help teachers connect their students’ learning outcomes with outdoor activities, holistically benefitting students’ education and wellbeing.
